The maximum number of meters depends on the specific gateway model. Please note that the number of meters is a rule of thumb. The decisive factor is always the total M-Bus standard load, which may vary depending on the meter model.
M-Bus Gateway: Supports up to 50 standard M-Bus loads. As a rule of thumb, you can connect about 30 to 35 meters.
M-Bus Gateway Sirius: Supports up to 250 M-Bus standard loads. As a rule of thumb, approximately 150 meters can be connected.
Important Note: The actual number of compatible meters must always be verified on a case-by-case basis during planning to prevent bus overload.
Do the gateways require a separate power supply?
Yes, the gateways must be connected to the power supply in the electrical distribution system.
How are the gateways connected to the Internet?
Like all smart-me devices, the M-Bus gateways also feature a built-in Wi-Fi interface and use it to communicate directly with the cloud.
Can the retrieved data also be sent to a system other than the smart-me Cloud?
